What a day

Wow what a day I have had. I have been listening to my book The Shack all day and oh man I have been in tears it is a great book. It sure has been given me things to think about how we think about GOD. I know we are brought up to think that GOD is a white man but not in this book. Then I have gotten 4 phone calls today. The first one was from my husband. Then my rehab councelor called to find out if I am all ready to come to the center.
Then the directory of the commission for the blind called and she told me she is mailing out my key on the 22nd of this month and she told me the first week I am there it will be crazy.
Then my step mom called and she will be sending out christmas cards to the kids that will be great she always sends money every christmas to the kids for christmas that is great of her.
I am worn out and tired and getting really excited and nervious about Jan getting here.

Questioning

I am sure questioning if I should go to the commission. But I have made the decision to go so I know I should go thru with it. Alot of times in my past I decide to do something then I end up chickening out but not this time. I know this will be the best thing for me and my family but mostly the best thing for me. I did cry about this last night and how felisha was behaving about me going. For me alot has to do with being so scared to go and be away from my family.
My husband has left me and the kids many of times and for some reason it is ok for him to go. Well then I say to myself why is it not ok if I go. It is ok if I go.
So I am going to go.

The Shack just came in today

I am so excited to get started listening to The Shack. My husband told me this is a awesome book that will change my life. So after lunch I am going to get started listening to it. If anyone wants to check the book out it is called The Shack by William P. Young it is a Christian book

Felisha My Daughter

Felisha My daughter she is the youngest of the 3 kids I have. Felisha also has a severe learning disablity and a very low commuication skills which makes it had to try and say how she is feeling. Well I knew something was wrong with her she said she did not sleep well and was very tired and when she gets this way I know something is really wrong. So I told her was I was worried and after that she started crying really hard. She does not want me to leave and i total understand that.
I did try to explain why I needed to go not sure that even helped. There are times I do wonder if I need to wait until she is out of school.
I have alot of people telling me now i need to go. They are right I need this for myself. I am not good at making decisions for myself everyone in my life including my husband has always made decisions for me.
So for me this is a huge decision I have made for myself so I can better myself.
I feel God wants me to go know and I feel good about that decision yes I am totally scared to death but that will not stop me.
God will help me thru the time I am away from my husband and kids

Commission for the Blind Count-down

I thought I should give a Count-down for when I will be leaving for the Commission for the Blind In Portland Oregon. I will leave Jan 3 or 4th my classes start Jan 5th. I will be staying in an apt by myself for about 3 to 4 months.
The reason I am going is to gain indeptence. I have never been indeptent I have always relied on someone else to take care of me. I feel that God is telling me it is time for myself and I think he is right no matter how scared I am.
I will learn to shop by myself. To use the public transportion. cooking and Cleaning yes i can cook and clean but I think there is a better way then the way I do it.
See what kind of work I would like to do. Plus what kind of technology is out there. i know I will learn more but that is about all I know at this time.
So I have So I have about 30 days to go.

Serotek releases System Access 3.0

This is so exciting for us with Vision Impairment or who are Blind. I am so excited about this.

Serotek releases System Access 3.0

Serotek Corporation continues to raise the bar in the assistive technology industry with its latest software release of System Access 3.0. In this release, there is a great deal to be excited about both for new and existing customers.

The update to version 3.0 will happen seamlessly for existing customers with no need for user intervention. And for new customers, it is not necessary to find and download an installation package. Users can simply log in to http://www.satogo.com or visit www.serotek.com and initiate the automated installation process. In this way, users can begin a trial or create a paid account without any complexity.

Serotek is proud to release the first full-featured screen access product with support for 64-bit operating systems. This support is not only an essential breakthrough for IT professionals working in 64-bit environments in the course of their employment, but for the average consumer as well. Blind individuals can now walk in to any of the increasing number of retail stores who stock their shelves exclusively with machines running 64-bit operating systems, and purchase a new computer without wondering whether or not the machine will be accessible when they take it out of the box. From the smallest Netbook to the most powerful server, System Access delivers fast, reliable, and easy to use accessibility. Remote Training and Support is now better than ever. System Access users have long had the ability to remotely access other users' computers for the purposes of support, training, or just for fun. Now System Access has added a voice over IP feature which allows for crisp and clear voice chat between connected users, eliminating the need to communicate by phone or through third-party VOIP software such as Skype.

Accessibility Anywhere is right at your fingertips with support for the Alva BC640 Braille display. With this light, portable, and fully plug and play Braille display, users can have full access to Braille in all their favorite applications both at home and on the go.

But screen access to computers isn't just for work anymore. It's also for fun, and for those living the accessible digital lifestyle, System Access brings you the most compelling support for iTunes 8 available on the market. And since everyone enjoys playing games, the Serotek team and the team at All In Play have collaborated to bring you a game-playing experience you'll want to return to again and again. All In Play features four games that are appealing to blind and sighted individuals alike, and with all plans being less than $8 per month, the fun is accessible and affordable for all. Combine System Access support for Anagram Tag, Texas Hold`em, Crazy Eights and the classic game of poker with the crisp clarity of the System Access Mobile network chat system and you'll have accessibility and entertainment wherever you go.

And whether you're at home or on the go, you'll always want the ability to keep in touch with friends and family. In addition to Serotek's built-in client supporting MSN Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger, subscribers to the SA Mobile Network can now easily communicate with each other through text or voice. Users can add their SAMNet friends to a list of SA Mobile Network contacts, and have the ability to initiate a text or voice conversation with those friends.

These are just a few of the many exciting features available in the release of System Access version 3.0. If you'd like to see a more comprehensive list of features, you can read what's new in System Access 3.0.

Kids still sick

Well My 2 kids Mathew and Felisha are still sick with the flu. Mathew keeps telling me he has a bad headach. Felisha ran a fever of 102 last night. Both kids are still sleeping so not sure how they are doing yet. Which gave me time to clean the bathroom and mop the kitchen floor. Need to do some laundry soon. A mothers work is never done. When I think there is nothing to do there sure is. I love being a stay at home mom with my kids. But I know soon they will be done with school and on there own.
Ok this is my day.

The Shack

I just ordered this book. My husband read it and said it is changing his life. This is alittle bit what this book is about. I really hope everyone goes out and gets this book.

What Is The Shack?

The Shack revolves around Mack (Mackenzie) Philips. Four years before this story begins, Mack’s young daughter, Missy, was abducted during a family vacation. Though her body was never found, the police did find evidence in an abandoned shack to prove that she had been brutally murdered by a notorious serial killer who preyed on young girls. As the story begins, Mack, who has been living in the shadow of his Great Sadness, receives a strange note that is apparently from God. God invites Mack to return to this shack for a get together. Though uncertain, Mack visits the scene of the crime and there has a weekend-long encounter with God, or, more properly, with the godhead.

The Flu

Well the day after Thanksgiving my son had a bad headach and come to find out he has the flu. The the flu started with my youngest. This may sound gross but there throw up and going to the bathroom smell gross. So now she has the flu and I feel like I may be getting the flu. The only people that are left is my middle girl and my husband. My stomach feels weird.

I'm Looking for ways to make money

I am looking for ways to make money staying at home. I find lots of things. There are some that say I need to have a GED witch I do not at this time. It is a long story as to why I did not finish High school. There are alot of business out there where I need to put up money up front. This worries me as if they are real business.
I am not crazy about and do not want to host parties at all. I am not good at it in the first place.
I will pray about this and hopefully God will show me what he wants me to do. If God wants me to do it at all.

I know that stores will have good deals or at least I hope they will have good deals.

The Power of the Cross

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Colossians 2:13-14

A number of years ago, I had the privilege of having lunch with Billy Graham. I was a bit nervous, and I had all of these questions swimming through my mind.

Finally, I turned to him and said, "If you knew as a younger preacher what you know today, would you emphasize anything more as a younger preacher that you find yourself emphasizing today?"

Without missing a beat, he responded, "I would preach more on the cross and on the blood. That is where the power is."

I took note of that. There's power in the message of the cross, in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

The power of the cross is, for all practical purposes, the message of Scripture. The first book of the Bible, Genesis, clearly speaks of Jesus' life and death. After Satan led Adam and Eve into sin, God judged Satan and said to him, "He [the Messiah] shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel" (Genesis 3:15). This is the first Scripture that actually points to the coming Messiah, who would crush the head of Satan.

The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Suffering Servant who "was wounded for our transgressions . . . and by His stripes we were healed" (Isaiah 53:5).

Throughout the Old Testament, we see glimpses of Jesus Christ. And the New Testament reinforces over and over again this central message that Jesus came to die.

From the very beginning, Jesus' death and resurrection were a part of God's plan. The crucifixion was not an interruption of an otherwise successful ministry. It was all part of God's plan to bring about the redemption of humanity.

Jesus was born to die for our sins. That is the power of the cross.

Thankful

I am so thankful for my family. My husband and my 3 wonderful kids Mathew, Elizabeth, Felisha. I know that Thanksgiving is next thursday and I love thanksgiving not just because we are going to eat way to much. Just to spend time with my kids. My kids are going in different directions. Mathew is never home and Elizabeth is always on the go. Elizabeth is doing Cheerleading and now Basketball. It is so hard to keep up with them. Poor Felisha stays home with me. Soon I know that my kids will be out of the house.

The Election is over

Well I have to admit I am so glad that the Election is over with. But I am very sadden by the out come. I am not happy at all that Barack Obama won. I thought that McCain should have one. But i know that God is in charge of it. I just do not trust him. Not because of his color because I do not like for what he stands for. So I will keep praying that he will let God lead him lead this country.

Changed My mind

Well after talking to my husband last night about going to talk to his boss to see if he will hire me. With me going off to the commission in Janurary I think it is best to go to the school then come back and talk to him then. I do not see the point in talking to him right now. After I get back from school I will know more about the technology that I will be able to use. Plus my husband said they should get busier in the spring when i get back. I hope I am making the right decision for myself by waiting.

It is time to add again

Well I have not posted anything here thought it is time again. I have been really thinking about starting my own business my husband kind of gave me the idea. I am a kind of shy person and have not been around many people in my life. My husband has worked at napa for about 17 years so he does know this business. So I am going to call my husband boss tomorrow and see if I can talk with him about how it works to run NAPA. I do hope he is willing to show me the ropes about the business. My one chanllege will be is helping comstumers this part I am not sure How i will do it. I also don't know what i will need technolgoy wise to help me.
I have told my rehab councelor this and she is very negative about it. She said I do not have the skills I need and with being afraid to people. My husband thinks I can get past all of this.
I do want to run my own business I think it will be good for me.

How I use the Computer

If anyone reads this I bet you are wondering how I use the computer well I have 2 screen readers on my computer one is called zoom text and the other one is called read please. Zoom text does not always work so I have to go to read please. I can chat online read anything any sighted person can do. I am hoping to soon get Jaws.

I'm down today

I am very down today. Last couple of days my husband and I have talked about me starting my own business. My husband works at NAPA and he thinks I could own one. He said I would be the owner and he would be my manger. Well I emailed my councelor from the commission for the blind and she is very down on the idea. I have no schooling never finished High school and she said I have no idea what I am getting myself into. There is no way they would provide me the tech stuff I would need to run this kind of business. Basicly she said I was not smart enough to do this. She said I do not have the people skills I need to do this.
This has me very depressed.

My Guide Dog (Hasina)

This is Hasina and I at Newport beach, Oregon. I have had Hasina for 5 years and she is 7 years old. There are days I still can't believe that i have her. I have never been a Dog lover but I can tell you I love her very much and I am not sure what I will do when it comes time to retire her. Something happened to me when I was a baby that has made me afriad of Dogs. She has helped me so much she has made me feel better about myself if that is even possible. She is my life line. People never really would come up to me but now I have her people only want to talk about her but at least they will come up to me. I am so thankful to God that i have her.

My Kids

I have 3 kids Mathew 17, Elizabeth 15, Felisha 13. Wow 3 teenagers can be a full house sometimes. Mathew is a Senior and Elizabeth is in 10th grade and Felisha is a 8th grader. Felisha is the only kid with alot of issues and problems. I have been told that Felisha has Audtory Processing Disorder. She can hear and she is not deaf it is that her brain has a hard time telling her what she is hearing. She is also 4 years behide her peers and she is 4 years behind in reading and math. She is in the 8th grade and is doing 4th grade work.
Felisha has a long road ahead of her. I do not know what holds for her when she gets done with high school. I do not think she will gain too much ground in her life. I have been told that she will always be behind. But I know she will do great what ever she wants to do.

My Blindess

I thought I should write about my Blindness and how I went Blind.
I went Blind at birth or even before. When my mother was carry me she took alot of different seizure medican. I guess I never moved into of her due to the medican she was taken. But when it was time for me to be born the Drs. used forcepes to pull me out. Right after I was born I went thru drug withdraw as a infant. Drs think my birth had something to do with my Blindness. They tell me the wiring in my brain is damaged some where just not totally sure where. They think it is somewhere near the Optic Nerve. Yes my eyes do move and they are healthy but my blindness is from a brain injury and not an eye problem.
